Melle Windig, Hidde Alberts, Miguel Reyes, Jurgen de Smit, and Arjen van der Plas formed Studio Brute Beesten as a one time collective during their 3rd year stop motion minor at Sint Joost School of Art & Design. Combining tactile craftsmanship, inventive character design, and sharp comedy, the team first created Cell Buddies as a study project. The film became an unexpected hit, earning over 150 festival selections and 25 awards worldwide, and is now represented for world sales by Kurzfilm Agentur Hamburg. All five creators graduated from their bachelor studies in 2026
