Yijian Shan is a writer-director based in New York. Her work explores transcendent ties between female interiority, queer desire, and geopolitical landscapes. Her short film “Still Water” won the Special Jury Prize at New York Asian Film Festival; screenplay “A Long Vacation” was selected by Hainan International Film Festival; screenplay “Appearance of Love” was selected by Tirana International Film Festival and received the Katharina Otto-Bernstein Grant. She is winner of the Eisner Prize in Film, a NewFest x Netflix New Voices Grant semifinalist, and a fellow of the Paolo Sorrentino Lab.
