BAFTA-winning Casting Director Isabella Odoffin opens up about her craft, from the creative processes behind her work to the collaborative relationships that shape it. Plus what her deserved BAFTA recognition for Supacell has meant for her career.

BAFTA-winning Casting Director Isabella Odoffin pulls back the curtain on one of the most vital and often misunderstood roles in filmmaking. In this Casting Masterclass, Isabella will walk through how she approaches her craft - the processes, instincts, and creative decisions that go into building a cast - and why the relationships she nurtures with directors, producers, and actors across film and TV are so central to the work. Her collaborations with Encounters alumni Rungano Nyoni and Molly Manning Walker across their acclaimed features On Becoming a Guinea Fowl and How to Have Sex speak to the types of creative partnerships she builds and sustains from early career through to the biggest stages. She'll also reflect on her deserved BAFTA recognition for Supacell and what that moment has meant for her career and visibility as a casting director. For anyone working in or around production, this is a chance to understand the art and influence of casting from someone operating at the very top of it.
