After school, Jake (10) sits buried in his school textbook copy of Romeo and Juliet. Becky (10) calls out to him from her flat window. Together, they escape into a concrete playground: their kingdom of chips, ball games, vows, and Shakespeare. With a wish, a game of rock paper scissors and an engagement ring Becky has found at home, they exchange vows to seal their sacred bond, promising to look after each other until they're old and dead. Becky’s Dad calls her home, and Jake is left standing atop of the Kingdom with the ring in hand. He is alone again, but a little less lonely.
