Inspired by Antonio Machado's poem The Wind, One Brilliant Day, Ben Rivers' latest 16mm short continues his signature poetic and experimental exploration of the relationship between humanity and nature. The film follows Tang Wei as she ventures into the wilderness, drawn by an unseen force toward a secluded oasis. Restless and adrift, she is haunted by the feeling that something essential is missing. She does not know what she is searching for, nor why she has come. She only knows that she must leave behind everything familiar, allowing her inner self to dissolve into the natural world until they become one.
