Emily Leo is a BAFTA and BIFA-winning producer with a track record for discovering new voices and taking risks on distinctive material. She began her career in Acquisitions at Capitol Films, beginning to gather an understanding of the international marketplace for films and their value, which underpins her ability to analyse the industry as a whole and her desire to take risks on material that could hit big. After Capitol she moved to work alongside Paul Webster at Shine, where she developed a diverse slate of films including Salmon Fishing in the Yemen and Brighton Rock. She also produced her first short film “Worm” in 2011. Emily has always been focussed on accumulating a breadth of knowledge about the industry, and her role at Shine enabled her to closely experience the workings of a large company as well as the details of their New Regency joint venture.
