Not every film gets made through the usual channels. These filmmakers put the audience first and find ways to get it done anyway.
Jake Kuhn and Noah Stratton-Twine wrote, directed and produced The Peril at Pincer Point on a microbudget, a black-and-white comedy that won the NEON Auteur Award at SXSW 2026 and has since played FrightFest and Fantasia. Geoff Barrow, co-founder of Portishead and head of Invada Records, self-funded his first feature Game through the newly launched Invada Films, shot it in Bristol with collaborators and friends, and already has two more in development.
